Election of a member of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic by judges of the Central Slovak electoral district
On 4th September 2024, pursuant to Article 141a par. 2 (b) of the Constitution of the Slovak Republic and pursuant to Section 17 par. 1 of Act No. 185/2002 Coll. on the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic and on Amendments and Additions to Certain Acts, as amended (hereinafter referred to as "Judicial Council Act"), the President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic announced the election of a member of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic among the judges of the Central Slovak electoral district. The election of a new member of the Judicial Council will be held on November 6, 2024 from 09:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic announced the election due to termination of the office of the member of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, Ján Gandžala, pursuant to Section 26 par. 1(f) of the Judicial Council Act.
Pursuant to Section 11 par. 2 (b), (c), (d) of the Judicial Council Act eligible proposers shall deliver to the President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic proposals of candidates for member of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic by October 1, 2024 until 3:00 p.m. Proposals received later shall not be taken into account.
