Memorandum of Cooperation

The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, represented by its President Marcela Kosová, and the Association of Judges of Slovakia, represented by its President František Mozner, solemnly signed a Memorandum of Cooperation at the General Assembly of the Association of Judges of Slovakia on November 7, 2024.

The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic entrusted its President by the Act No. 387/2024 dated October 16, 2024, with the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the largest professional organization of judges in Slovakia.

The Memorandum regulates the basic framework of cooperation between the Judicial Council and the Association in order to promote and protect the independent and impartial performance of the judiciary, improve the judicial system, strengthen the rule of law and trust of the public in the judiciary. Both parties agreed to conclude a memorandum, mutually respecting the position, scope and tasks of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic and the Association of Judges of Slovakia.

The Judicial Council and the association will cooperate in particular in the creation of legal regulations related to the judiciary, especially concerning the organization, administration and self-administration of courts, including the provision of sufficient personnel and material resources for their functioning, the status and material security of judges and other persons participating in the performance judiciary as well as proceedings before the courts.
