According to law, sessions of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic are apart from one exception public. Until now, minutes and audio recordings of the proceedings have been published on the official website after each public session. At the same time, live streaming of the sessions is also available on the website. However, the efforts of the Office of the Judicial Council to improve the technical and organizational processes in favour of transparency do not end here.

The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, under the leadership of its President, Marcela Kosová, wants to be closer to the professional and lay public. Through its procedures, it is striving for greater openness and communication. For this reason, the Judicial Council has taken further steps to improve the availability of up-to-date information.

Since December this year, a new service has been introduced - the automated transcription of audio recordings of Judicial Council sessions. Once this system is in place, the Office of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic will be able to process audio recordings in text form more efficiently. This will contribute to improving the search for information on the official website of the Judicial Council.

The transcripts will be published in the same section as all existing materials relating to the outcomes of each session of the Judicial Council. These transcripts will be clearly divided into agenda items as approved by the members of the Judicial Council at the beginning of each session.

“We tested the automated transcript at the November session so we could catch any gaps before offering it to the public. I'm glad to see that another thing has been accomplished that will benefit the judges and the public at large. Everyone will be able to read the contents of the proceedings of the item on the agenda that interests them, or even the whole session. We are one step higher in our efforts to contribute to increasing public confidence in the judiciary", concluded the President of the Judicial Council Marcela Kosová.
