The Office of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic organizes an interactive educational program "Justice for Children" for primary and secondary school students. Its goal is not only to teach students more about the functioning of the judicial system but mainly to introduce the general public to the most important tasks and competencies of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic.

The educational program has been organized by the Office of the Judicial Council for more than six years, and the interest in it has not faded out. Since the beginning of the school year, more than one hundred students from three different schools have participated in the program. The concept is based on experiential learning, linking theory with practice. In a simulated court hearing, students, for example, try out various roles from judge to victim. The program also includes a tour of the Vice Governor's Palace, during which they will see areas that are usually inaccessible to the public. They will also learn more about the history of the seat of the Judicial Council. The last excursion was attended by students from a primary school in Senec. “We are very satisfied. We organized this excursion as a follow-up to the eighth-grade civics lesson, where, for example, the topic of the principle of the separation of powers is discussed. In this case, we touched on the judicial power, where the Judicial Council has an irreplaceable place. We are very glad that we were able to visit it. What we have heard today we will also discuss directly in the civics lesson", said Milan Urda, a teacher from the primary school on Mlynská Street in Senec.

The program also includes a personal meeting with the leadership of the Judicial Council, which has been very well received. Students had their questions answered directly by the President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, Marcela Kosová. "Meeting the young generation is always a great experience. I am glad that children are interested in how the Judicial Council and the judiciary work. Answers to their questions cannot be prepared in advance, they are sincere and often insightful. It is a great refreshment for me in my daily work", explained Marcela Kosová.

"I found out about the opportunity to take part in this excursion from the internet after we had visited the National Council. I have to say that this is my first experience with the Judicial Council. I will also talk about it directly with the school management", said Milan Urda.
There is a special form on the Judicial Council's website to sign up for the excursion. The date is always chosen in consultation with the President of the Judicial Council. So far, she has personally attended every excursion.
