The candidates for the position of President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic are known
The President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, Marcela Kosová, announced on 9 January 2026, the election to select a candidate for the position of the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic. The announcement is linked to the upcoming end of the term of the current President, Pavol Naď, on 18 May 2026.
Authorized nominators could submit their nominations to the President of the Judicial Council by 2 February 2026. Within this deadline, nominations were received for two female candidates. Katarína Benczová was nominated by five judges of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic. Petra Príbelská was nominated by fourteen judges of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic, as well as by the councils of judges of the Administrative Courts in Bratislava, Banská Bystrica, and Košice.
The election will take place at the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic on 14 April 2026 at 9:00 a.m. By then, the Judicial Council must verify the candidates´ asset declarations and oversee compliance with the requirements for judicial eligibility. The successful candidate must subsequently obtain an absolute majority of the votes of all members of the Judicial Council.

I am convinced that all members of the Judicial Council will carry out this responsibility with full seriousness and accountability,“ said the President of the Judicial Council, Marcela Kosová.
