The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic hosted the international discussion of four European judiciaries

On 2nd of February 2024 the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, represented by Mr. Ján Mazák and Ms. Dana Jelinková Dudzíková, hosted the ENCJ Dialogue group meeting. The main aim of the discussion was to deal and analyse the current threats to the independence of each judiciary, to discuss the most important challenges to the independence, accountability and quality of the national judiciaries. The group was composed of representatives of the Judicial Councils from Norway, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Slovakia. It was honor to have Ms. Dalia Vasariene, the President of the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary, present at the meeting. The discussion was very fruitfull and concentrated mainly around issues like relations between judiciary and media, relations between judiciary and other state powers, insufficient remuneration of judges and other judicial staff, the disciplinary proceedings, specialisation of judges and judicial maping, evaluation and benchmarking of judges, quality of the judicial decisions.
