The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic participates in the international conference Global Challenges in the Field of Justice
The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic participated in the international conference ‘Global Challenges in the Field of Justice’ held on 17-19 June 2025 in Baku. The Judicial-Legal Council of Azerbaijan organised this conference on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.
The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic was represented by Dana Jelinková Dudzíková, member of the Judicial Council and Chair of the Permanent Ethics Commission, who participated in a panel discussion and delivered a speech. During the conference, three judicial councils were invited to bilateral meetings with the Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council of Azerbaijan and the President of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, Inam Karimov. Among them was the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic.
Dana Jelinková Dudzíková reported on the competencies of the Slovak Judicial Council, technological and social challenges, and how the Judicial Council is addressing them. In her contribution, she pointed out that the rule of law knows no boundaries.
"I consider it very beneficial that we had the opportunity to exchange views and experiences on such a broad international platform. The discussion was very open, both in the panel and in the bilateral meeting. As was the case in the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary, it became clear that several judicial councils face similar problems to ours. This is particularly true with regard to the efficiency of the judiciary," said Dana Jelinková Dudzíková.
The participation of the Slovak Judicial Council in the conference confirms that the Judicial Council is a respected partner not only within the European Union and the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary but also in the international arena.
"I appreciate the invitation to the Judicial Council from our Azerbaijani colleagues. Dana Jelinková Dudzíková informed all members of the Judicial Council in detail about the content and high level of the conference. I am convinced that much of what was said at the conference will be of benefit to our Judicial Council in the future when dealing with certain issues," concluded Judicial Council President Marcela Kosová.
