The President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic responds to the European Commission's recommendations to Slovakia regarding the Rule of Law

The President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic Marcela Kosová got acquainted with the Rule of Law Report 2024 published on 24th July 2024. Marcela Kosová regrets that the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia cancelled at the last minute the discussion planned on 24th July 2024 which was to be devoted to the state of the Rule of Law in Slovakia and the presentation of the published Rule of Law Report, thus eliminating the possibility of immediate and direct communication with the representatives of the EC in Slovakia as well as with the Vice President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency, Věra Jourová. The members of the Judicial Council should have participated in this discussion and been prepared for an open, professional and transparent debate.

The Judicial Council will comment on the content of the full Rule of Law Report as a collective body.
