The President of the Judicial Council participated in a discussion with experts
The President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, Marcela Kosová, attended a working meeting of the presidents of the criminal law colleges and chambers. The main topic was the Amendment of the Criminal Law and the Criminal Procedure Code. The expert discussion was organised by the Ministry of Justice. Modern criminal policy has long been a topic of interest for a professional community. "I admit it is also a bit of nostalgia on my part, as I already feel that I miss criminal law. Apart from this, I would like to point out that it is much appreciated that the representatives of criminal judges in Slovakia are provided with a platform for exchanging experiences and finding solutions to problems that naturally arise in the application of criminal codes. The debate during the meeting was dynamic, with a lot of insights from colleagues", said the President of the Judicial Council Marcela Kosová.
In September, she will participate in historically the first ever meeting of judges from all four administrative courts in Slovakia titled The Days of Administrative Justice. During these Days, the expert discussion will focus mainly on social and tax issues, administrative punishment and the foreigners' agenda. The professional expert discussions aim to contribute to the improvement of the efficiency of the Slovak judiciary and to the gradual elimination of its shortcomings. Also for this reason, the President of the Judicial Council actively participates in these expert discussions.
