XIIIth International Scientific Conference "Constitutional Days" with the participation of the President of the Judicial Council

On October 3-4, 2024, the 13th annual scientific conference called Constitutional Days, also with international participation, took place at the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic in Košice and the Faculty of Law of the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice. The theme of this year's conference was Proceedings on the conformity of legal regulations - the right to petition and the effects of rulings of the Constitutional Court. The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic was represented by its President, Marcela Kosová, who accepted the invitation to this important professional event "I was very happy to accept the invitation as a representative of the entire Judicial Council. The Judicial Council, as the constitutional body of judicial legitimacy, had its representative at this important event after four years. It was very inspiring to listen not only to the contributions of the conference participants, but also to the subsequent discussion, which was very interesting", said the President of the Judicial Council Marcela Kosová

The conference was opened by the President of the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic Ivan Fiačan. Other important representatives of the Slovak and Czech judiciary also spoke at the conference during the two days. The conference was also attended by Juraj Schwarcz, Judge of the General Court of the European Union, Miroslav Gavalec, Judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union and Josef Baxa, President of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic "I gained new insights into many topics, for example the topic of the right of the senate to initiate proceedings on the conformity of the legislation or the intertemporal effects of derogatory rulings of the Constitutional Court", concluded the President of the Judicial Council.
