Dana Jelinková Dudzíková is not biased and has not expressed her opinion in advance
Suppose a false or incomplete factual claim has been published in a periodical publication or in a news agency service that infringes on a person’s honour, dignity, or privacy. In that case, the person has the right to have a correction published under the Publications Act.
The operator of the news website and the publisher of the periodical publication PETIT PRESS, a.s. (www.petitpress.sk) published a correction based on a request from Dana Jelinková Dudzíková. The correction request concerned an article published in newspaper Daily SME on September 22, 2025, in the “interview” section, titled “We have doubts about the impartiality of the court,” and in the online edition on September 21, 2025, under the title “Dlugošová: Fines for the Ministry were challenged by Šutaj Eštok with administrative lawsuits. We have doubts about the impartiality of the court,” with the subtitle “Judge Jelinková Dudzíková expressed her opinion in advance”.
The publisher published a correction in Daily SME on October 22, 2025, at the request of the judge, in which it stated: “In the article published in Daily SME on September 22, 2025, in the “interview” section, titled: “We have doubts about the impartiality of the court,” on pages 4 and 5, a false factual claim was made about Dana Jelinková Dudzíková, a judge of the Administrative Court in Bratislava, who was referred to in the article as the “Biased judge”. The judge did not present her opinion in advance and is not biased”. In the online edition, a section marked as “Clarification” was added at the end of the article with the same text as the correction.”
“The operator and publisher formally complied with the Publications Act. However, it is questionable who will read the addendum to the article in the online space, whose title remained unchanged, and has already been read by many. Similarly, it is questionable who will notice the brief correction notice in the print edition of Daily SME, located on the fifth page in the lower right corner. The original article, after all, was spread over two pages.”, stated Marcela Kosová, President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic.
