President of the Judicial Council discussed with European judges and prosecutors
The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, in cooperation with the Judicial Academy of the Slovak Republic, participates in an exchange programme specifically aimed at judicial authorities. Its aim is to develop a European judicial culture based on mutual trust between judicial authorities in the European judicial environment. Today, they were received by the President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, Marcela Kosová, in the premises of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic. The foreign delegation consisted of judges and prosecutors from Romania, Italy, Germany, Spain, Lithuania, France, Poland and Belgium. The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic was their first stop during their short-term visit to Bratislava. The President of the Judicial Council started by informing them about the activities and competences of this supreme constitutional body of judicial legitimacy. During the informal discussion that followed, she answered many questions from the participants. The topics of the process of appointment of judges and their career development as well as the disciplinary powers of the President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic met with the greatest interest. The President of the Judicial Council also presented the composition of this constitutional body and the cooperation of non-judicial members of the Judicial Council with judges. One of the topics was also ethical dilemmas discussed by the Judicial Council at its meetings.
