The International Scientific Conference on the topic “The Relationship Between National Law and European Union Law – XIV Constitutional Days” was taking place on 2–3 October 2025 at the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic in Košice and the Faculty of Law of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic is represented not only by its President Marcela Kosová, who accepted the invitation to this important event from the President of the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic, Ivan Fiačan, but also it is represented by Tomáš Ľalík, a member of the Judicial Council, who actively participated in the conference with a presentation entitled “The Dispute over Constitutional Identity in the Draft of Constitutional Amendment: A Threat or a Legitimate Issue?”

“I was very pleased to accept the invitation to the Constitutional Days again this year. The individual contributions are traditionally of a very high standard and, above all, always open equally high-quality discussions,” said Marcela Kosová, President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic.

As it is already a tradition, Ivan Fiačan, President of the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic, opened the conference. The programme of the first day included presentations by Takis Tridimas, Director of the Luxembourg Centre for European Law; Pavel Šámal, Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic; and Miroslav Gavalec, Judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
